Why I Created It

When I founded STORIES Parfums, I wanted to create more than a bottle. I wanted to build a ritual — a way of experiencing fragrance that went beyond the first spray and stayed with you, through every layer of your day.

But I kept returning to the same question: what happens between the morning spray and the end of the day? What happens to the scent as you move through the world — through meetings, rituals, quiet moments, and everything in between?

And beneath that question was another one. What are we actually putting on our skin?

Skin is the body's largest organ. It absorbs. It holds. It carries. And most of what the beauty industry calls bodycare is formulated to a price point — filled with synthetic thickeners, harsh cleansers, and preservatives chosen for shelf life rather than skin health.

I wanted something different. Not just for the fragrance layering — though that mattered — but for the skin itself. Bodycare that treated the skin the way skincare treats the face. With the same standard of ingredient selection, the same transparency, the same genuine care.

Every ingredient chosen for what it does to the skin — not what it does to the formula's price. Every decision made with the body in mind as a whole, not an afterthought.

Our Commitments

Cruelty Free
Never tested on animals. Not at any stage of development, not by any third party, not ever.

Paraben Free
Parabens are synthetic preservatives linked to hormonal disruption. We do not use them. Full stop.

SLS Free
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a harsh surfactant found in most mass-market washes. It strips the skin's natural moisture barrier, causes irritation, and compromises the very surface you are trying to care for. We do not use it.

A Note on SLES — Complete Transparency

We use SLES — Sodium Laureth Sulfate — in the Hand & Body Wash, and we want to be completely transparent about why.

SLES and SLS are often grouped together. They should not be. They are chemically distinct, and they behave very differently on skin.

SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) is a small, aggressive molecule that penetrates deep into the skin, strips natural oils, disrupts the moisture barrier, and causes irritation — particularly for sensitive and reactive skin types.

SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) goes through a process called ethoxylation, which increases the molecular size significantly. That larger molecule sits on the surface of the skin rather than penetrating it. It cleanses effectively and gently, creates a soft foam, and does not compromise the skin barrier in the way SLS does.

We chose SLES because we wanted a wash that actually cleanses — not one that strips. Paired with Aloe Vera, Provitamin B5 and Glycerin, the formulation is designed to leave the skin balanced and comfortable, not tight or compromised.

We believe you deserve to know exactly what is in your products and why it is there. This is what complete transparency looks like.

Ingredient Breakdown — Wash

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice)
Leaf juice — the concentrated, higher-grade form. Delivers immediate soothing hydration, calms reactivity, and leaves the skin surface balanced rather than disturbed.

Provitamin B5 (Panthenol)
A genuine skin barrier repair agent. Converts to Vitamin B5 in the skin, supporting moisture retention and helping the skin recover from daily environmental stressors.

Glycerin
A humectant that works during the cleansing process to prevent moisture loss. Skin that feels clean, not tight.

Coconut Oil Cleansers (Lauryl Betaine & Coco-Glucoside)
Naturally derived, gentle surfactants from coconut. Effective, soft foam without harshness — cleansing without compromising the skin barrier.

SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate)
Chosen specifically for its gentleness, effective yet non-stripping cleanse, and compatibility with sensitive skin.

The Hand & Body Lotion

Applied while the skin is still warm, the lotion creates the surface that holds fragrance longest — and leaves the skin deeply nourished long after.

Ingredient Breakdown — Lotion

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii Butter)
Rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, E and F. Deeply softening, protective, and restorative. Comfort without heaviness.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice)
Soothing, cooling, and immediately hydrating. Prepares the skin to absorb everything that follows.

Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis Oil)
Lightweight, skin-compatible oil. Absorbs readily, leaving skin smooth without a greasy finish. Rich in oleic acid and Vitamin E.

Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao Seed Butter)
Rich in phytosterols and deeply protective. Forms a barrier that shields from moisture loss and conditions without clogging.

Marula Seed Oil (Sclerocarya birrea Seed Oil)
Cold-pressed in Africa. Extraordinarily rich in oleic acid and antioxidants. Absorbs fast, restores suppleness, and protects the skin barrier.

Argan Kernel Oil (Argania spinosa Kernel Oil)
Rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Smooths, restores elasticity, and brings a natural luminosity to the skin.

Glycerin
Draws moisture from the air and binds it to the skin. The ingredient that makes a moisturiser last.

Moisturising Complex
A proprietary blend formulated to balance skin comfort and support the skin's natural equilibrium.

The 60ml size is TSA-compliant, lightweight, and designed to move with you easily, allowing you to care for your skin wherever the day takes you.

Ideal for Sensitive Skin

The STORIES Hand & Body Collection was formulated with sensitivity in mind at every stage.

No parabens. No SLS. No synthetic fragrance added to the base formulation. The cleansing agents are gentle and naturally derived. The actives — Aloe Vera, Provitamin B5, Glycerin — are among the most skin-compatible ingredients in bodycare.

If your skin reacts easily, this collection was made with you in mind. Cleanse, nourish, and care — without compromise.

How to Wear It

Apply the wash in the shower or bath. Work into a gentle lather, rinse, and step out while the skin is still warm.

Apply the lotion immediately — warm skin absorbs more readily and retains more. Work it in slowly, starting at the wrists and moving upward. Take thirty seconds. It is worth it.

Then, if you wish, reach for your fragrance.

The moisturised skin beneath will hold it differently. Longer. Deeper. More fully. Each note — top, heart, base — developing as it was always meant to, on skin that has been prepared to carry it.
