My favourite thing about gifting fragrance is that friends and loved ones can enjoy it over and over with every spritz... reliving shared memories or crafting their own new narratives.

But how do you select a scent for someone else?

True perfume lovers savour the experience of selecting a scent and getting to know it intimately before committing. So trust both your emotions and your nose... try not to be swayed by certain ingredients or what you think you should or shouldn't like.

Choosing a perfume for someone else is so deeply personal. Start by tuning into the recipient's true authentic self, the essence of what makes them who they are.

When you first inhale a new scent, trust your gut and ask yourself:

1. How does the fragrance make you feel?
2. What does it remind you of?
3. What emotions or memories does it evoke?
4. What is it saying to you?
5. How does that message fit into your life’s narrative?

Try not to be swayed by preconceptions of certain ingredients, or what you think you should or shouldn't like.

Try Before you Buy

The oils and chemicals in our skin react so differently to the ingredients and molecules in a scent, which is why the same one can smell unique on each of us.

We recommend trying a sample before you buy a new perfume.. we'll even redeem the cost against a full size bottle.

If gifting a friend or loved one, buy them samples - or ask them to sniff a mystery scent on each of your wrists - then surprise them with a bottle of their favourite!  

Test on Skin
