The Inspiration Behind STORIES Nº.02
My second fragrance, STORIES Nº.02, embodies a sense of wonder and liberation... an invitation to walk among the flowers, shed your shoes at the river and recover that which has been lost.
Every spritz tells the story of unlocking happy moments in my life, moving out of the shadows and into the joy of exploring new and revisited memories. Each of us has the ability to tap into our senses and experience this powerful (scientifically proven) connection between scent, memories and emotion.
Scent, Memories & Emotion
Smells are processed by the olfactory bulb that begins inside the nose and connects to the limbic system in the brain. The limbic system controls two parts of the brain – the hypothalamus and cerebral cortex which connects us to our emotions and memories.
The olfactory nerve is short, which is why our sense of smell can affect us so quickly. Hence an intrinsically close relationship between smell, emotion and memory.
Something powerful happens when I catch the scent of pipe tobacco on the breeze. I'm immediately transported to my grandfather’s garden - and there, all around me, are good memories...
"Days in my grandfather’s garden were spent among his plants. In the greenhouse, rose bushes stood among orange trees, on which blossom and fruit grew in tandem.
Pots of patchouli lined the patio; the aroma from rubbing their green leaves on my wrists.
The scent of the stream drew me barefoot into its water. I paddled under the watchful gaze of my father and grandfather, their faces obscured by tobacco pipe smoke."
Bottling Memories
These moments are the memories I have bottled in STORIES Nº.02.
The blend opens with Bulgarian Rose, spiced with ginger, cardamom and green tea. Honey Tobacco tones balance Cedarwood at the heart of this woody fragrance. Opoponax, Tonka Bean and Patchouli enhance the full bodied perfume while amber and musk render it unforgettable.
Shed your shoes
STORIES Nº.02 invites you to revisit parts of your childhood that may have been overshadowed or long forgotten. To walk barefoot among the flowers, reconnecting with memories and emotions.
